Perishable Bodies (2014)

In Perishable Bodies Francesca and Tamar translate on a physical level the impact that mankind has on the planet, focusing on the topic of climate change. They create a live installation with the aim of embodying the struggle between humans and nature: 500kg crushed ice is on the floor on which they decide to lay down and move. Leaving behind them the trace of their warm footprints, they speed up the process of ice melting. Their bodies, placed in extreme conditions, actively fight in order to find a new balance. Nature (in that case ice/ water) has on the other hand to fight back not to be definitively altered by their intervention.
